Privacy policy

The Parcel House is a neighborhood shipping store at 7058 N West Ave. in Fresno. We collect very little about you, we use it only to serve you, and we do not sell it. This page explains what we keep and why.

What we collect

• In the store. Your name, address, phone number and email when you ship a package, rent a mailbox, place a print order or ask us to hold something for you. Mailbox rental also requires the identification the U.S. Postal Service asks for on Form 1583.
• On this site. The email address you type into the newsletter form, and anything you choose to tell us when you call or write.
• Automatically. Basic, non-identifying visit information such as the pages viewed and the general type of device used. We do not use advertising trackers.
• Payments. Card payments are handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.

How we use it

To ship your package, receive your mail, complete your order, answer your question, take payment, keep the records the carriers and the Postal Service require, and send you the newsletter if you asked for it. That is the whole list.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent or trade your information. We share only what a job requires:

• Carriers such as UPS, FedEx, USPS and DHL, so your shipment can be delivered.
• Service providers who process our payments or send our newsletter, under agreements that limit them to that work.
• Law enforcement or a government agency when the law requires it, including the Postal Service's rules for mailbox holders.

The newsletter

We send it occasionally, with seasonal gifts, store news and discounts. Every message has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us at the counter or by email. We remove you the same day.

How long we keep it

Shipping and order records are kept as long as the carriers and our accountant require, generally a few years. Mailbox agreements and Form 1583 are kept for the term of the rental and the period the Postal Service requires afterward. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.

Your choices

California residents may ask what personal information we hold about them, ask us to correct or delete it, and ask us to confirm that we have not sold it. We have not sold it. Write to us and we will answer within 45 days. You will never be treated differently for asking.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.

This is a general policy written for a small retail shipping store. Have a lawyer review it before publishing, and adjust it if you add online payments, appointment booking or analytics.
